The Healing Journal

Grief changes us—but healing is possible.

This guided journal is inspired by Grief Bleeds by Daniel Verkoeyen, a funeral director who has walked alongside grieving families for years. Designed for anyone navigating grief, bereavement, or mourning after the loss of a loved one or another significant life loss, it offers a quiet place to reflect, process, and heal at your own pace.

Rather than requiring daily entries or a rigid schedule, this journal invites you to open to the next page whenever you're ready. Each reflection includes a meaningful quotation from Grief Bleeds (along with select Scripture and other thoughtfully chosen quotations), a guided prompt, and space to write honestly about your experience.

Over 90 reflections, you'll gently move through four stages:

  • The Story – acknowledging your loss

  • The Wound – understanding grief

  • Wound Care – learning healthy ways to heal

  • Living with the Scar – finding hope while carrying your loss forward

Whether you are in the first days of grief or years into your healing, this journal offers a compassionate space to slow down, reflect, and continue moving forward—one page at a time. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone walking through loss or a meaningful companion on your own bereavement journey.

Inside you'll find:

  • 90 guided reflections

  • Thought-provoking journal prompts

  • Plenty of writing space

  • Works as a companion to Grief Bleeds or as a standalone journal

  • Suitable for personal reflection, grief support groups, or counseling

Healing doesn't mean forgetting. It means learning to live with the wound, caring for it well, and discovering that hope is still possible.
